The EcoTug 90/180 is a battery-powered electric ground power unit (eGPU) designed for aircraft ground operations. As airports increasingly adopt cleaner energy solutions, battery-powered eGPUs are becoming a standard part of airport fleets, providing a practical alternative to diesel-powered auxiliary power units (APUs).
The EcoTug 90/180 combines the S400 solid-state GPU with high-performance CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The system provides stable 400 Hz power, high energy density, and consistent performance across a wide range of operational conditions. It is suitable for aircraft at contact and remote stands, as well as hangar-based maintenance operations.
Equipped with LVRTech™ (Low-Voltage Ride-Through technology), the eGPU maintains a stable power supply even during short-term voltage dips in the airport power network. Its mobile design allows operation across different aircraft parking positions, and multi-unit parallel operation supports higher power requirements where needed.
The CATL battery packs are rated for up to 4,000 cycles or eight years of service. A Battery Management System (BMS) monitors voltage, state of charge, and temperature with high precision. The system features a three-tier alarm strategy—local alerts, remote intervention, and automatic shutdown—to prevent operational issues. Automatic fire suppression and multi-sensor monitoring enhance safety, while the thermal management system ensures reliable performance from -20°C to 55°C.
The EcoTug 90/180 reduces reliance on fuel-powered APUs, lowers operating costs, and minimizes carbon emissions. Its integrated diagnostics and cloud monitoring simplify maintenance, supporting consistent and efficient airport ground operations.
